On September 21st, the School of Languages at XJTLU successfully organised a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience activity for international students at both the SIP and Taicang campus. Although the event was delayed due to weather conditions, participants came together to learn about the history and customs of the festival, create blessing bookmarks, and craft lanterns, all in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Learning the History and Customs of?the Mid-Autumn Festival
Led by the Chinese lecturer, international students from all over the world delved into the history and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival. From the legend of Chang’e flying to the moon to the origins of mooncakes, and from the tradition of moon gazing to the festival’s emphasis on family reunion, the students gained a deeper understanding of this traditional celebration.
Writing Mid-autumn Festival Bookmarks
The students had the opportunity to write their own Mid-Autumn blessing bookmarks. With each carefully written character, they not only conveyed heartfelt wishes to their friends and family but also experienced the beauty of Chinese idioms and classical poetry. Every bookmark was a unique work of art, carrying sincere well-wishes.
