On 9 September, Professor Jintai Ding, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Physics at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Director of Post-Quantum Migration Interdisciplinary Laboratory, and an internationally recognised expert in cryptography, was invited by the Suzhou Financial Society to deliver a lecture on “The Impact and Countermeasures of Post-Quantum Cryptography in the Financial Sector.”

In his lecture, Professor Ding reviewed?the development of symmetric, asymmetric and post-quantum cryptography, outlined the potential applications of post-quantum cryptography across financial domains, and discussed international experiences and future directions in post-quantum migration. During the interactive session, he engaged with the audience on topics such as?digital currencies, quantum computing and post-quantum cryptographic transition strategies.

The lecture was chaired by Mr Zhang Hao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Suzhou Branch of the People’s Bank of China, with Deputy President Ms Zhai Xiaojia also in attendance. More than 140 participants joined the event, including representatives from the Suzhou Branch of the People’s Bank of China, the Municipal Financial Office, the Suzhou Bureau of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, the Municipal Bureaus of Industry and Information Technology, Science and Technology, and Data Management, as well as delegates from Soochow University?, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, financial institutions and member units of the Suzhou Financial Society.
